Your account
Your account keeps your docs safe and with you on every device. Here is everything you can change about it.
Signing in
You can sign in with Google, with a passkey, or with your email and a password. To create an account, choose Continue with Google, or enter your name, your email and a password of at least 8 characters.
A passkey lets you sign in with your fingerprint, face or device PIN instead of a password. Add one once you're signed in, with Register passkey on your profile.
Your profile
Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then Profile. There you can:
- change your photo (up to 1 MB) and your name;
- change your email, and see whether it's verified;
- change your password (this signs you out on your other devices) and add passkeys;
- manage Connected apps and API keys (see Agents and the API);
- set your timezone and how dates and numbers are written;
- delete your account.
Verifying your email
To share docs or publish folders, Markpad needs to know your email address is really yours. If you signed in with Google, that’s already done. Otherwise, choose Send code in the Share dialog, and paste the 6-digit code from the email (or click the link in it).
Changing your email
You can change your email on your profile. If your current address is verified, Markpad first sends a confirmation to it. That way, nobody else can move your account to a new address without you knowing.
Deleting your account
Delete account… on your profile removes all your docs and folders and signs you out everywhere. This can't be undone, so download anything you want to keep first, for example with Export all docs.
Markpad asks for your password to be sure it's you. If your account has no password (for example, you signed in with Google), you can delete it within a day of signing in, so sign in again first.
